What : A 1.3 km stretch of the former Berlin Wall converted into the largest open air gallery in the world.
Where : Berlin, Germany. Nearest U-BAhn station is Schlesisches Tor.
When : Anytime, although of course better for photos in the daytime. And its FREE !
Why : Over 100 murals testifying to the strength of creativity and human will over oppression.
Do : Step in the Souvenir shop for a stamp on your passport. Rest your legs after at one of the cafes or bars along the river, or hang out with a picnic on the lawns opposite the O2 World building.
Don’t : Touch the murals. Some of them are worked on in chalk and other sensitive media. And please don’t add to the artwork with graffiti or comments. They don’t need your input.
